Harsh Reality for Farmers.

The Tole It Is Tacking.

Many farmers in NSW and QLD have run out of stock feed and water, resulting in their beloved stock starving. This takes a huge toll on farmers and their families both mentally and financially. Many farmers do not put their hand up for help and just suffer in silence, as their forefathers would have done the same. This is a mentality we have to abolish and the rest of Australia’s Society needs to show that they care and will provide support. Farmers need to know that they are not along.

A farmer in QLD sold 700 cattle 6 months ago when the drought started to get bad, he kept 400 for him self in hope that it would rain. It didn’t! These cattle have been surviving on minimal water and feed for over 6 months. Yesterday this man went around the cattle and shot each and every single one, as they could not survive another day on suffering. He then went on to shoot himself.

This is not a happy story and drought never will be, but as a population we can help and provide assistance. It would just make a difference to a farmer and his families’ lives to now that people do care. The entire Australia Population owe it to each and every farmer to care, as these people provide us with one of the two essentials we need to survive, FOOD!

Yesterday my husband and I have carted 70 head of cattle down from the New England Regions of NSW that where in need of saving. These where the lucky ones, as most cattle are so pore that they are unable to travel on a truck. These cattle are the healthier and fitter cows that did have just enough strength to travel. Just have a look at the photo they are not in good condition.

We cannot sit and watch this happen!!! And this is why I am not going to sit and watch!!!

I am holding a fashion show during the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival. ALL money made/raised from the show will go towards sending much needed supplies to the areas that need it most. I have made a pledge that I will not be an onlooker anymore, so I urge you to come along to the fashion show and show your support.
